They come on when the wheel would be giving force feedback (if it did have force feedback) and it's kind of annoying at night. The only major downside I found is that you can't shut off the green halo lights on the top of the wheel. As it's a wireless wheel, it does not have force feedback (as it lacks the base for motors and such), but the vibration works well. The controller has the standard vibration motor and it works well in game.

In Forza, you can assign shifting to either the d-pad or the colored buttons (if you use manual shifting). Depending on what game you are using the wheel with, the controls are customizable. The buttons and d-pad feel good (it's the same d-pad as a standard 360 controller the colored buttons are slightly smaller than standard but feel the same). This is perfect as when it's not in use, it can go right in the drawer with the rest of the controllers.Д«uild quality of the wheel is really good. I wanted a racing wheel but was hesitant to buy a larger table top wheel due to how much space it would take up in the living room when not in use. The wheel really works great in Forza - it exceeded my expectations for control in the game. I purchased the Wireless Speed Wheel for use with Forza 4. For anyone thinking of picking up a wheel for casual racing gaming, this is a really good choice.
